Abstract: This research was conduct in the Straits of Malacca. The objective are to identifies types of marine incidents happen at Strait of Malacca and the factors that cause of marine incidents in the Straits of Malacca. The Straits of Malacca is one of the busiest strait in the world and due to this factor the percentage of marine incidents to occur is higher. The method used in this research is by carried out in-depth interview with selected personnel in Maritime Industry for primary data collection besides collection data from Marine Department of Peninsula Malaysia, review incident report and related articles as secondary data collection. All the data assembled will be analyzed by using Microsoft Excel to achieve both objectives in this research. Based on data analysis, collision was recognized as the most often type that contribute to marine incident in Straits of Malacca while the common factor that cause marine incident is human error factor. This research was conduct basically to find out the real number of incident that happen in Strait of Malacca besides to support any plan to make safety of navigation along the Straits and in the same time to prevent any marine pollution that can cause harm to environment in Straits area. Due to the some limitation in gaining data and time restriction, the data analyzed in this research only focus for period 2007 until 2011.
