Recycle of fish and shrimp wastes used for the growth of Brassica chinensis and
nutrients (N, P and K) leaching rate was examined in the greenhouse for 4 weeks.
Three types of organic fertilizer were used chicken manure, fish manure and
shrimp manure. Plants treated with fish manure exhibited higher chlorophyll
content and total leaf area than plant that treated with chicken manure and shrimp
manure 4 weeks after application of fertilizer. Number of leaf, stem length, leaf
dry weight, stem dry weight and total dry weight did not differ between plant
applied with chicken manure and fish manure. Nitrogen of chicken manure
exhibited the highest leaching rate while leaching rate of phosphorus for shrimp
manure was the highest. On the other hand, fish manure exhibited the highest
leaching rate in potassium. The result suggests that fish manure has a good
potential to be used as organic fertilizer. |
