dc.description.abstract From September 2008 until January 2009, 30 Cyprinus carpio were purchased at the farmer market located at Kuala Terengganu. The fish was used to examine the monogenetic trematodes. An ectoparasitism diagnosis study on koi, Cyprinus carpio was conducted. Existing ectoparasites on Cyprinus carpio were identified and the infestion severity was determined by calculation of percentage abundance, prevalence and mean intensity. The study which consisted of 30 Cyprinus carpio, revealed the presence of two species of monogenea. These species were Dactylogyrus minutus and Gyrodactylos sp. these parasites inhabit on the skin and on the gills of the fish. The total prevalence for the infection of the monogenea is 80% and the mean intensity is 30.54. en_US
