dc.description.abstract This report deals with shipping accidents in Kemaman which is focused on causes and effective ways to avoid or at least to minimise occurrence of the shipping accidents in Kemaman. Besides that, it may help to minimise amount of loss faced by the ship or their company. Annual data from Marine Department shown that most of the ships involved in the accident did not carry any load or the load carried does not exceed the limit allowed. Discussion and interview with Personnel from Marine Department Kuala Terengganu and Kemaman shows that there are several factors that cause the shipping accidents in Kemaman. Weather condition such as wind and current act as a cause of shipping accident in Kemaman. Second factor goes to human error especially error. Crew of the ship does not take a good care of safety precautions before or during ship sails or during the ship out from port and during the ship enter the port. Furthermore, the accident also occur because of physical condition in Kemaman water itself. en_US
