dc.description.abstract Aaptamine is a bioactive marine alkaloid containing a unique 1H-benzo[de][ 1,6]naphthyridine skeleton. The remarkable biological activities displayed by aaptamine and its congeners have prompted many researchers to explore this group of compound. In this study, aaptamine was successfully isolated from marine sponge, Aaptos aaptos and was proposed as starting material for semi-synthetic modifications. en_US
