dc.description.abstract A study was conducted in two mangrove sites, namely, Kuantan and Endau Rompin in Pahang to determine the distribution and species assemblages of foraminifera and to correlate them with environmental parameters such as sediment texture, elevation, salinity, pH, and total organic carbon. At each site, the distribution of benthic foraminifera was evaluated by analysing the surface sediment samples collected along 3 transects established at each study site. In addition, core sediments were also collected to determine the changes in foraminifera distribution with depth of the sediment. Overall it was found that there are 25 and 35 foraminiferal species found in the Kuantan and Endau Rompin mangrove forest respectively. en_US
