dc.description.abstract The importance of this study is to find out the involvement of serum lgA in protecting goats against intranasally exposed Pasteurella multocida B2 antigen, because lgA plays a major role in protecting surface tissues against infectious microorganisms. This study was conducted to determine the IgA responds in the respiratory tract of the goats following intranasal exposures to formalin killed Pasteurella multocida B2 and lives attenuated Pasteurella multocida B2. Nine clinically healthy goats were divided into three groups. Goats in group I and 3 were respectively subjected to double intranasal exposures to formalin killed Pasteurella multocida B2 and live attenuated Pasteurella multocida B2. Goats in group 2 were unexposed control. After one week of acclimization period exposure was done on week 2 and week 4 of the study duration. Serum samples were collected twice during acclimization period and every week after acclimization period. The serum samples were subjected to Enzyme Linked lmmuno sorbent Assay (ELISA) to determine the level of lgA. The lgA level in all three groups does not show any significant differences in its lgA level (p > 0.05). en_US
