dc.description.abstract Compare to world decade ago and world that we life now, thing have change to a better life. People now days refer a simple and easy life. Because of this robotics application are extensively used to help human handling an intricate work in daily life. In this project study, multifunction robot program was developed to nullify the demands. The multifunction robot consists of three functions which are robot communication, tour guide, and navigation. For the robot communication, the functions enable the robot to communicate with human. This application can make the interaction between human and robot easier in giving and receiving instructions. The tour guide was an application to take people touring. And lastly the navigation application was making the robot to wander around by its self, yet enable the robot to reach it target destination. All of these applications were developed using the C language. C was chosen because it compiles to highly efficient machine code, it was particularly well-suited to engineering application. The developed programs were then downloaded into the robot to be tested. Robot communication mode was tested using the IR remote control to see the robot was able to understand and communicate with the user. For tour guide, a model of testing field was constructed. This model consists of road and check points where the robot should stop at each check point and give brief description about the place. A test field was also constructed for the navigation application. The test field consists of three obstacles and line. In this test the robot should reach the finish line safely without making contact with obstacles. In addition, the development of multifunction robot can be a starting point to the University Malaysia Terengganu to produce student who are talented in the development of robot area en_US
