A study on a safety level awareness and practices among University Malaysia of Terengganu marine science student during sampling session

Abstract

Field work course MMB3000 is a course under Marine Science Department of Faculty Maritime Studies and Marine Science. It is constructed with one main objective that is to ensured that every student in Marine Science Department become a competant in handling oceanography equipmment at field work session. This study was conducted to identify safety awareness level, investigated the student followed the safety procedure required and recommendation ways to increase safety level awareness among them. Targeted respondent is 2nd year and 3rd year student. Questionnaire as a medium for survey in order to determined for issues safety practices and procedure, safety awareness and safety attitude. As a result, student marine science meet the safety required interm of procedure, attitudes and awareness. Recommendation has been made for increased and important is to maintained safety in sampling work of feild work.
