A study on safety awareness among fishermen at Kuala Terengganu

Abstract

Fisherman is one of the most dangerous jobs and highly risk. Safety awareness is important for every fisherman from beginning and the end of the trip to the sea. Study on safety awareness among fishennen at Kuala Terengganu is closely related to their awareness of safety where they need to be aware of each of their behavior. This project adapts the method of questionnaire by giving to the fishermen in Southern area of Kuala Terengganu. The objectives of this study are to determine the current level of safety awareness and identify factors affecting their awareness. For the methodology, the main data obtained through the use of questionnaires and field observations. Then, secondary data obtained from publications, journals, articles, theses and texts related to the case study. Descriptive analysis of the survey conducted accordance to sections A, B and C, and they discussed the level of awareness to get more precise results while achieving the objectives of this study.
